Time Spent In Our Workshop

Time Spent In Our Workshop

Patrick’s brother sent us this yesterday, and I think it is safe to say he has spent MORE THAN ENOUGH time with us in the shop. He has our workshop habits down pat because this graph depicts EXACTLY what goes on around here on a daily basis.

Now, off to find that MISSING TOOL I was looking for…

Just Call Me Dr. Jess

Just Call Me Dr. Jess

HOLY MACARONI! I just had to pull this 2″ nail out of Patrick’s thumb! It went straight through. Yes, he’s okay, but I almost DIED!!!

Those of you who know me, know that I get very weak at the sight of blood. As a matter of fact, I do not like blood or any form of injuries that go along with it. But today I had to put my big girl panties on, take a deep breath, closed my eyes tight, and pulled as hard and as fast as I could.

Thank the Lord, it came out easily and didn’t cause any major damage that a good cleaning and some bandages couldn’t fix. 😉

Restored Antique Dining Room Table

Restored Antique Dining Room Table

Hi Friends, and Happy Wednesday! Check out this FABULOUS Antique Dining Table that we just finished for the Tranchina family! This piece is over 100 years old, and was originally owned by Mr. Tranchina’s grandparents before it was passed down to him and his wife.  Before now, there had been a few attempts at refinishing it, but the laminate proved to be very difficult to remove. And  the sheer size of this piece was overwhelming (10 feet long). So, this beauty was never fully restored… UNTIL NOW!Continue reading

You see, it has been raining here in Louisiana for over a WEEK! Literally, EVERYDAY! So much so, that I think this may be OUR NEXT STOP…Continue reading

What A Weekend!

What A Weekend!

Hi Friends, and Happy Monday! We hope all of you had a WONDERFUL weekend! Ours was so BUSY, but so GOOD! For starters, we were able to check CAKE off of our To-Do List! We actually purchased them for $2.00 each! WHAT A STEAL! Yep, they were on the discount rack, and they were MOIST and DELICIOUS. And since we had so much, we were able to SHARE our desserts with our family and friends. So, it was truly a blessing. As we always like to say, it is a BLESSING to be a BLESSING! Continue reading

Cleaning And Organizing The Shop

Cleaning And Organizing The Shop

While our current projects were drying this afternoon, we did some MUCH NEEDED CLEANING AND ORGANIZING in our shop! (We had SAWDUST FOR DAYS from all of the building that we have been doing lately!) We do this periodically because having an organized work space allows our business to operate much more SMOOTHLY and EFFICIENTLY.  Plus, we always seem to find better ways to organize our materials each time we do it.

Today, we added some peg board in order to make our most frequently used tools more EASILY ACCESSIBLE for us. We also put up some small SHELVING for our nails, screws, and glue. These new additions will help our workdays go by much more smoothly, which in turn makes us HAPPY! It is often the little things in life that can make such a HUGE DIFFERENCE!
