Shabby Chic Beds for the Martinez Family

Happy Saturday, Friends! Check out these SWEET girls in their new BIG GIRL beds! And by the looks on their faces, they couldn’t be more PROUD!

Their Daddy did a great job building them, and we finished them. They are a lovely Pure White with light distressing on edging and a hint of Light Gray peeking through. To make the gray even more subtle, we went back over it with a white wash . Now they are oh so SHABBY CHIC and GIRLY!

Hi Friends, and Happy Wednesday! Today we are SUPER EXCITED to share a new style of bed with all of you that we have been working on! This is brand new trundle bed that we recently finished for the Judice family. They initially contacted us needing a larger sized bed for their sweet boy. Until this point, he has been in a toddler bed, and they were wanting to transition him into a BIG BOY BED! We were, of course, so happy to help!Continue reading

The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

Happy Friday, Friends! Do y’all happen to remember the SNEAKY PEEK in Lavish Green that we were working on last week? Well, here is the BEAUTIFUL set of pieces that we were working on! This set definitely proves that not all pieces have to be from a matching set in order for them to all go well together in 1 space!

Our clients initially came to us with these pieces, and 3 out of 4 of them held SENTIMNTAL value since they had been passed down through Mrs. Stein’s family to her. The buffet originally belonged to her mother, and the end tables belonged to her grandparents. Since our client’s living room and kitchen area are open to one another, they decided to have all of the pieces refinished to MATCH.Continue reading

Repaired & Refinished High Chair

Repaired & Refinished High Chair

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Check out this a GORGEOUS high chair that we have been working on for the Cruz family! When we received this beautiful piece, it was in need of a few repairs before we could start the refinishing process. Some areas had accidentally gotten wet, and as a result, several portions were swollen, peeling, and splitting. We also needed to fill and mold the areas in the front legs where a spindle had originally been attached. So, we pulled out our tools and GOT TO WORK….

Take A Look At Those Colors!

Take A Look At Those Colors!

Hi Friends! Take a LOOK at those COLORS! We just finished staining these boards and they will soon become our seats for our new BARSTOOLS! As we said before, the barstools will be finished to match the Lee family’s dining room table and bench set that we built and finished for them several months ago. EXCEPT…we will be adding a fun little twist on the barstools. We don’t want to give the SURPRISE away just yet, but we will say this…the barstools will have a little added pop of color. They are going to be the COOLEST thing, and we CANNOT WAIT to show y’all!

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Here’s a little UPDATE on our BOOKCASE that we were working on yesterday! Well, we were able to get it built, as well as started staining and painting it yesterday! We can’t believe how QUICKLY it is coming together!

We just flipped our shelves over and stained the other sides, and we also got a 2nd coat of paint on our bookcase. The dark shelves are going to be a BEAUTIFUL CONTRAST to the pure white that we are using on the bookcase. We cannot wait for everything to finish drying so we can put it all together!

Sneaky Peek Of The New Orleans Style Finish

Sneaky Peek Of The New Orleans Style Finish

Okay friends… Our media cabinet is really coming together now! Here is the 1st SNEAKY PEEK of the New Orleans Style Finish! And we LOOOVE IT!  We can’t wait to show y’all our finished product!

We also picked out our knobs today and will hopefully get them on tomorrow once we have finished sealing everything. 🙂

drawer and knob

This is one of our drawer fronts and our knobs. I have a thing for heavy cast iron knobs and pulls. They bring a bit of masculinity to a piece, while the scroll work on the face plate keeps it somewhat feminine. It just goes to show that opposites do go well together!

Our Stain Has Dried And Now We’re Ready For Some Paint!

Our Stain Has Dried And Now We’re Ready For Some Paint!

Hi Friends! We have allowed our stain to dry overnight on our custom media cabinet, and now it is ready for some PAINT! As gorgeous as this Minwax Special Walnut Stain is, it is going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD once we start adding some paint! This is only the 1st of many layers that this media cabinet will see. It will be unrecognizable, in a good way, by tomorrow!

Don’t forget to check back with us to see our next update on this beauty! If you would like to see our journey with this project so far, you can view our previous posts HERE and HERE
