Happy Birthday to Our July Babies!

Happy Birthday to Our July Babies!

Now that it is July 1st, we would like to wish all of our July babies a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And what a wonderful month to celebrate a birthday in!?!? On top of all of these wonderful birthday celebrations, we get to enjoy summer vacationfireworks, barbecues, snowballs, swimming, flip flops, catching fireflies, late nights, trips to the beach, and Independence Day! And we hope y’all ENJOY ever second of it!

We would like to send a very special birthday shout out to our oldest son who celebrates her birthday in a few weeks. He will be turning 11 and heading into the 6th grade! YIKES! We love you, baby, and are super excited to celebrate it with you. 😉

If this is your BIRTHDAY MONTH, let us know in the comment section below so we can wish you a happy birthday! And don’t forget to tag your FRIENDS and FAMILY who have birthdays this month as well to let them know that you are thinking of them!

We pray BLESSINGS over each of you for your birthday. May this upcoming year be your BEST yet! <3

Snow Cream Recipe

Snow Cream Recipe

This looks like a FUN winter treat for the whole family!

Too bad it doesn’t snow much here in Louisiana, or else we would be whipping us up a batch. 😉

At least all of our friends up North can enjoy this yummy little snack during the winter months. We get to enjoy SNOWBALLS here in the SUMMERTIME, which is similar to this snow cream cream recipe. We will be sure to post a picture for you as soon as our snowball stands re-open in a few months!

Thanks again to our friends over at Veggie Tales for posting this fun family winter snack!

All Of Our Favorites!

All Of Our Favorites!

King cakes, beignets, crawfish, and snowballs… OH MY!!! These are ALL of our FAVORITES! (I would just DIE for a Wedding Cake snowball with condensed milk right about now.)

If you grew up in Louisiana and LOVE all of these yummy SOUTHERN treats, RAISE YOUR HAND! <3 <3 <3

Now This Is A Food Pyramid We Can Follow!

Now This Is A Food Pyramid We Can Follow!

Now This Is A Food Pyramid We Can Follow! THANK GOODNESS the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory started their production back today, or our food pyramid would have been RUINED! HAHA!

Now, we are well aware that this is a TEXAS food pyramid…BUT they are from the SOUTH TOO! So, we think it is pretty safe to say that it is fairly close to what our Louisiana food pyramid would look like. Except, we would add KING CAKE, GUMBO, BOUDIN, POBOYS, SNOWBALLS, and CRAWFISH!!! (Can we get an AMEN!?!?) Although, we do appreciate the fact that they have both MEXICAN FOOD and TACOS in 2 different categories! (I may be Italian, but I LOVE me some Mexican food!)

It’s July 1st!

It’s July 1st!

Happy 1st Day Of July, Friends! Here in Louisiana, this means eating LOTS OF SNOWBALLS, wearing your SWIMSUITS from DAWN till DUSK, Tan lines from your FLIP FLOPS in the tops of your feet, BARBECUING for almost EVERY MEAL, heading to the BEACH, and TONS of FIREWORKS!

We love JULY and SUMMERTIME around here! In fact, some of our fondest memories as children were made during the Summer, and we have made it a point to make some new ones with our children throughout the remainder of this month.

What are some fun Summertime MEMORIES from your childhood?  And what new memories do y’all plan on making this Summer? We would love to hear all about it!

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture “Awards Day”

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture “Awards Day”

1.) There are 3 AMAZING things that are all rolled into 1 today….It is Friday….It is the last day of the  school year…It is the official start of Summer vacation!!! ENOUGH SAID!

2.) Today was awards day at our children’s school. Our youngest son graduated yesterday, and our oldest 2 had to go back for their class awards today. And we MADE IT ON TIME! YAY! We were almost late to graduation yesterday because we forgot our youngest son’s cap and gown at home! Yes, were half way there, and had to turn around to go back home and get them. Luckily, we made it on time that day as well….2 days in a row! SCORE! 😉 Continue reading
