The Lee Family’s Barstools Are Complete!

The Lee Family’s Barstools Are Complete!

Hi Friends! We have the Lee family’s barstool set completed! As we told y’all, we were building them to match the Vintage Farmhouse Dining Table and Bench set that we built for them a few months back. EXCEPT, we adding a fun little TWIST! They wanted us to paint and distress the frame work with a GORGEOUS TEAL! AND WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! This way, the barstools still match the table and bench set, yet they aren’t so MATCHY, MATCHY! Y’all know what we mean? 😉

DIY Coffee Plaque

DIY Coffee Plaque

Hi Friends, and Happy Monday! We have a GREAT new DIY project for you to start out your week! What do you do when you have a broken rake? Make a plaque out of it, OF COURSE! We recently broke our rake, and instead of throwing it away…we decided to Up-Cycle it! My grandparents are Up-Cyclers too (where did y’all think we learned it?). And since Father’s Day was right around the corner, we decided to make a gift out of it for our sweet Paw Paw!

We have seen rakes used as wine glass holders, and key holders too, but my Paw Paw LOVES COFFEE! So, we decided to use it as a mug holder. He is actually the reason why I love coffee so much. He used to give me “coffee milk” when  I was little, and I have been hooked ever since. 😉Continue reading

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Here’s a little UPDATE on our BOOKCASE that we were working on yesterday! Well, we were able to get it built, as well as started staining and painting it yesterday! We can’t believe how QUICKLY it is coming together!

We just flipped our shelves over and stained the other sides, and we also got a 2nd coat of paint on our bookcase. The dark shelves are going to be a BEAUTIFUL CONTRAST to the pure white that we are using on the bookcase. We cannot wait for everything to finish drying so we can put it all together!

If you are just joining us, you can view our previous post on this piece HERE.

DIY Project In The Works!

DIY Project In The Works!

ISN’T THIS GORGEOUS! This is one of our DIY projects that we were telling all of you about. This is what our new color, “In Pursuit Of Teal,” looks like after we did a bit of aging. Y’all, nothing makes us quite as happy as refinishers as this little SNEAKY PEEK here! We LOVE when we are able to take something new and make it look like a piece that has been sitting in an old barn, down a dirt road, for 100 YEARS! These are the moments we LIVE for in our business!

We will begin our sealing process today, and are so ready to get all of our pieces attached so we can show y’all are FINISHED PRODUCT! IT’S GONNA BE A BEAUTY! 🙂

In Pursuit Of Teal

In Pursuit Of Teal

Happy Saturday, Friends! Y’all should have known that we COULDN’T STAY AWAY from the paint section at Lowe’s! We went back yesterday to pick up some materials for 2 DIY projects that we are working on for y’all. And since they are still running a BOGO sale for their sample sized Sherwin Williams‘ paints, we decided to pick out a few more colors. (It was the 3rd time that we got paint there last week! HAHA!) Our New Orleans Style Media Cabinet Is Complete!

Okay, Friends! We have the Fangue family’s New Orleans Style Media Cabinet COMPLETED! And we could not be happier with our results. We are HEAD OVER HEELS in love with it! In order to achieve this GORGEOUS finish, we used 4 different paint colors, plus a dark glaze. We then fully sealed everything with a lovely satin finish!  This piece is sure to be a FABULOUS focal point in any room! ( We love it so much, that we are on the hunt to find something in our home to use this finishing technique on.)

It always amazes us what a little stain, paint, and glaze can do…Continue reading

The Stein’s Grey Dining and Barstool Set Are Finished!

stein set

Happy Tuesday, Friends! For all of you who have been following our updates on the Stein’s Grey Inspiration set, IT IS OFFICIALLY COMPLETE! (For a look back on our journey, click: here, here, and here) And boy is it GORGEOUS! This was our first time using this particular color combination, and we could not be more pleased with the results.

They wanted to go with a two-tone finish. So, we used Sherwin Williams Ovation Latex Paint in “Krypton” on all of the bases, with a Minwax Satin Polyurethane finish. And for the tops, we used Rustoleum Carrington Stain with a Minwax Semi-Gloss Polyurethane finish. And here are some before and after pictures of each piece…Continue reading

Painting…Painting…Painting!

Painting…Painting…Painting!

Now that our final coat of stain has finished drying on our chairs, we are ready to PAINT them! These 4 dining chairs and 4 barstools are going to be two-tone. They go together with a matching dining table and bench set that we are also working on.

We will be using the elegant grey that we told y’all about the other day. (The inspiration color on the clock) The paint color is called Krypton…and we LOVE it! We can’t wait to see our finished product, and will be sure to post some pictures once we have everything completed.

New Color Inspiration…..GREY!

New Color Inspiration…..GREY!

We are currently working on a very large order for a client, and we LOVE the color that they chose! They brought us this gorgeous clock for the inspiration for their refinish. Now, it looks a little blue in the picture… but in person, it is a very elegant light grey. What we love most about using this shade of grey is that it has a calming effect and will not overpower the space that it is in. This is also a neutral color and can be paired with many other colors without clashing.

We are currently working on stripping, sanding, and cleaning all of their pieces, and cannot wait to start staining and painting everything! We will post our finish product as soon as we have everything completed! So…STAY TUNED!
