Happy April Fool’s Day!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Sounds like a PLAN to us! We have NEVER been good at the whole April Fool’s thing. Either our pranks were TOO LAME, and never fooled anyone, or else we thought that our ideas were TOO MEAN to try on anyone. The most successful trick I have played all day was jumping out and scaring 2 of our 4 kiddos. I am still working on the 3rd, and will not stop trying until I have accomplished doing so for the day. Although, I love scaring people, and do this ALL of the time, so I am not sure if it really constitutes as a real “April Fool’s Prank.”

Have any of you ever gotten away with a successful April Fool’s prank? If so, tell us all about it in the comments section below. Maybe we could try it out next year. Happy April Fool’s Day, Y’all!

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Someone had some very EXCITED visitors yesterday! The kiddos were CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get up to the hospital to see their daddy. They stayed as close as they could to him… Ehmmm… right on top of him, the whole time. He was happy to see them too, and did’t mind one bit!

It is very rare that Patrick is ever away from us, so his presence has definitely been felt over the past few days. He has been doing well and feeling better everyday, and is responding well to the new heart medication. I am happy to announce that he will be able to come home tomorrow! YAY! 😉

Thanks again for all of the PRAYERS, ENCOURAGEMENT, and SUPPORT! We truly appreciate all of you! <3

Do What You Love

Do What You Love

Ain’t that the TRUTH! 😉

We love getting to have our babies help up in the shop… supervised, of course! They get to learn so many awesome things from watching us build, repair, refinish, and up-cycle. And they are so PROUD of themselves when they get to see the finished product that they were able to help with.

At the end of the day, it is all about family and doing what God specifically CREATED you to do! As they say… “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.”

(P.S. For our lawyers and doctors out there.. we love ya too!”)

Our Top 10 Ways To Beat Those Winter Blues

After having a few weeks of warm weather, we woke up this morning to some very unexpected COLD, GLOOMY weather. Ever since then, I have been feeling kind of down, and unable to shake these WINTER BLUES. Up until today, I had high hopes that this cold weather was behind us, and have been excitedly looking forward to Spring. But today really knocked the wind right out of my sails.

It comes as no surprise that most people feel down or depressed during the winter months, and it is actually a very common problem that affects a large number of people. It is called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). If you think about it, most people are stuck indoors during the winter months trying to stay hidden from the wintery, gloomy, overcast weather outdoors. And we all know that when we are trapped indoors for long periods of time, we aren’t able to get much needed fresh air, sunlight, and social interaction. All of which are essential to a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Well, if you are like us….trying to fight the winter blues, we have a few solutions to help brighten your moon, and get you back on track! Here are some of our top tips for a better, and maybe even enjoyable winter for you and your entire family!Continue reading

Mardi Gras Break

Today is the official start of our Mardi Gras break! Even though we homeschool, we still follow the calendar of our local school throughout the year. That means, NO SCHOOL ALL WEEK LONG! Woo Hoo! We have thoroughly enjoyed our day so far, and are looking forward to having a fun week with our kiddos. 🙂

Where are you from, and are y’all out this week in your area too?

Grubs, Slugs, and Lizards… Oh My!

We are outside enjoying this beautiful weather with our kiddos, and extending one of our science lessons for the week.

As a mom of boys, I have gotten used to them playing with bugs, but I never expected my girls to be so excited about them as well. Continue reading

The Average Toddler

The Average Toddler

YES! And the average 4 year old girl asks 29,752 questions a day! Trust us, we know! 😉

Our little 3 year old daughter will be 4 in a few months, and she talks NON-STOP. Thankfully she is as sweet as sugar and absolutely hilarious. So, we can let her slide. <3

Do you have a toddler running around the house? If so, are they super talkative, or  late bloomers? Our boys were not very talkative at all when they were younger. They said what they needed to say and that was about it. Our girls, on the other hand, talked from sun up till sun down… and still do!

Real Life Elf On The Shelf

Real Life Elf On The Shelf

In the magic of the Christmas spirit, families across the nation participate in the “Elf on a Shelf” tradition, where a Christmas elf watches over the home’s children to ensure they are indeed being nice, and deserve their Christmas wishes. The elf then “delivers” that information to Santa.

Father of six, Alan Lawrence never had an “Elf on the Shelf” growing up–but he was always intrigued by it. Then one day, someone mentioned his little 4-month-old baby boy looked like a cute elf, and the world was given this gem!Continue reading

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture: Livin’ Life On The Wild Side

1. This is our youngest son. He is sweet, loving, kindhearted, hilarious, compassionate, and the BEST HUGGER IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. But he is also accident prone! Yes, friends… if there is something dangerous within a 1 mile radius, this kid is going to find it. Even if it is something that would not typically be harmful, he will still get hurt on it. And 9 times out of 10, he will get hurt on his poor head or face.Continue reading
