Our Schoolroom Renovation

Our Schoolroom Renovation

Hi Friends! With our school year coming to a close, we thought we would share some of the CHANGES and UPGRADES that we have made to our space over the past 8 months! We feel that our space will probably be one that is every-changing as we continue our homeschooling journey, but for the time being we are very pleased with how much we have accomplished this school year.

Since this was our very first year of homeschooling, we kind of JUMPED in with both feet forward. We didn’t know exactly what would work best for us, and fully expected this to be a year of TRIALS and ERRORS. This would be our year of really learning what would work best for our family, and what we were going to have to tweak and change a bit before getting into our groove.Continue reading

Up-Cycled Bicycle Planter Box

Up-Cycled Bicycle Planter Box

Hi Friends! For anyone who has ever wondered where we get our LOVE of up-cycling from… well, look NO FURTHER! My grandparents taught us everything we know. They are old-school up-cyclers…. They were up-cycling when up-cycling wasn’t even COOL! Like, it wasn’t even a thing back then. But they did it and did it well, and are still doing it to this day!

I don’t always post their projects, but this one was so cute, I couldn’t help myself. They have been hard at work making this fun little planter box to put their “Watch For Children” sign in at the front of our driveway. (They are always making sure their grandbabies stay safe)

This little bike originally belonged to our oldest son, and it made its way through 2 more of our kiddos before it finally BIT THE DUST. It actually had a little help from daddy’s truck, but oh well… they had to learn the hard way not to leave their bikes in the driveway. (It was the first, and will hopefully be the last time they will make that mistake)Continue reading

Scrap Pile Project: Hall Tree

Scrap Pile Project: Hall Tree

Happy Thursday, Friends! One of our most favorite things to do around here is Up-cycling. In this case, we reused some old scraps, paint, stain, and hardware from old project that had been piling up in our shop. We absolutely LOVE to save all of our usable scraps for future projects, especially when they can be re-purposed into something NEW! Why waste if we don’t have to?

So, we got to work gathering all of our scraps that would have otherwise been BURNED or THROWN AWAY. We were even able to pull together a few decorative pieces that we purchased over the years…. but never found the right use for them… UNTIL NOW! They may have not seemed like much at the time, but once put together, they became a MASTERPIECE!Continue reading

Shabby Chic Bed

Shabby Chic Bed

Hi Friends! Today we are introducing a brand new style of bed that we will be offering! We have been wanting to try this particular style out for quite a while now, and recently had a little bit of free time to give it a try! This beauty was handmade using all solid wood and comes with all custom rail supports. All that you need is a mattress and box spring, and you’re set!

The large panels in the center of the headboard and footboard are rough cut and offer a fabulous texture. This bed features an array of lovely, soft hues in white, tan, and pale blue. All of which have been distressed and fully sealed. This color theme would go well in just about any space that has a rustic or shabby chic feel.

We currently only have this one available in a queen. We can build other sizes per request. Prices will vary depending upon size.

Queen: $550.00

We accept Cash, Check, Paypal, and Square. (3% fee will be added to all Paypal and Square transactions.)

Rustic Coffee Bar

Rustic Coffee Bar

Hi Friends, and Happy Saturday! Today, we are sharing our fun, Rustic Coffee Bar with all of you. This is a piece that that we designed ourselves to fill a NEED in our home, and has made our life so much EASIER! And as most of you know, with a family of 6 we are always looking for ways to get organized and help to save time, and this coffee bar was it!

Like most COFFEE and TEA LOVERS, we have way too many varieties and packets lying around, as well as about a million mugs that were taking up precious cabinet space in our kitchen. So, Patrick and I put our thinking caps on and started working on a design for a coffee bar.Continue reading

Double Unit Puppy Cave

Double Unit Puppy Cave

Happy Wednesday, friends! Here is a piece that we just finished for some of our very SPECIAL clients. They recently added a new, TOTALLY ADORABLE little fur baby to their family and asked if we could build them a double unit set of puppy caves. We were thrilled to give it a try since we have never attached 2 units together before.

Unlike our typical puppy cave units, which are separate, these attached units help to SAVE ON SPACE, as well as offer a nice area where dog treats, toys, pictures, or decor could be set on top. (Isn’t it great to have a piece that can be useful as well as decorative?)Continue reading

The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

Happy Friday, Friends! Do y’all happen to remember the SNEAKY PEEK in Lavish Green that we were working on last week? Well, here is the BEAUTIFUL set of pieces that we were working on! This set definitely proves that not all pieces have to be from a matching set in order for them to all go well together in 1 space!

Our clients initially came to us with these pieces, and 3 out of 4 of them held SENTIMNTAL value since they had been passed down through Mrs. Stein’s family to her. The buffet originally belonged to her mother, and the end tables belonged to her grandparents. Since our client’s living room and kitchen area are open to one another, they decided to have all of the pieces refinished to MATCH.Continue reading

Paint Party at 10:30 p.m.

Paint Party at 10:30 p.m.

This is HOW WE ROLL during the holidays here at Chelette’s Decor & More. We have NO set business hours. In fact, business hours of 9-5 are NON-EXISTENT during the months of November and December. So, working at 10:30 pm on orders is a MUST for us.

And it may SURPRISE y’all to hear that we are OKAY with that! We are so BLESSED by all of our clients every holiday season (new and returning), and are beyond THANKFUL for the orders. So, we slap on a BIG OLE SMILE every morning and excitedly take on what the day has to offer. A positive or negative attitude is all in your mind! And we HAPPILY CHOOSE to be POSITIVE!

Now… back to our PAINTING PARTY! YAY! Have a blessed night friends! 🙂

Restaurant Tables & Chairs

Happy Saturday, Friends! We just finished up this order for 4 custom built tables and 16 refinished chairs for one of our local restaurants!

The tops feature a BEAUTIFUL Carrington Stain, that offers a DEEP, RICH color. As for the chairs, our clients chose to go with a CLASSIC, Antique White with distressing, and then finished off with a LOVELY glaze.Continue reading

Our Paint Colors Of The Week

Our Paint Colors Of The Week

Hi Friends! Check out the 4 FABULOUS colors that we have been working with this week! And it may even surprise y’all to know that we are using ALL of them on the SAME piece! OH YES… HAHA! It may seem like A LOT, but we PROMISE, they look BEAUTIFUL together.

These colors are so SOFT and COOL that they give a CALMING effect. As I worked on the piece, Patrick couldn’t stop staring at it. He said that it made him feel CALM and PEACEFUL! (Hey… I am up for ANYTHING that can give us some TRANQUILITY in our home!) 😉

Once we are finished, our piece will be AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. So, keep you eyes peeled for our finished product! We will be sure to post PLENTY OF PICTURES too!
