From Flood Waters to Farmhouse Fab…

From Flood Waters to Farmhouse Fab…

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! Today we have a very special up-cycle to share with all of you! We recently had the pleasure of working with the Jenkin’s family who brought us a Headboard and Armoire that had lots of water damage after being SUBMERGED in several feet of FLOOD WATER. Typically, most people would throw these types of items out and simply purchase new ones, but this set belonged to their grandmother and she was absolutely heartbroken over the loss of her beloved bedroom set. So, they brought us the pieces without her knowing, and asked that we try to salvage as much as we could and turn them into a BRAND NEW PIECE!Continue reading

Happy 11th Birthday To Our Oldest Son

Happy 11th Birthday To Our Oldest Son

I will keep this as SHORT, SWEET, and least SAPPY as possible… Because if I don’t, I will become overwhelmed with emotions! And hence…will be a blubbering mess for the remainder of the day! We cannot have that because we still have lots of celebrating to do.

Today we are celebrating our oldest son’s birthday, and I simply cannot believe that our baby is getting so big, so incredibly FAST! He was our first child, and was the one that we tested all of our trial and error parenting techniques on. Haha! Just joking! But he has really taught us so much in the way of parenting. We never knew that DEEP, PURE, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE until we first laid eyes on him. And over the past 11 years, he has helped us to become better parents, and better human being all around.Continue reading

5 Things: Our Father’s Day… The Good, The Bad, and The Funny

5 Things: Our Father’s Day… The Good, The Bad, and The Funny

Hi Friends and Happy Father’s Day to all of our daddies and daddies-to-be! We have had a wonderful day showering Patrick with love, and now that we are home and he is taking a little evening Father’s Day nap, I decided to sneak on here and write a little post for all of you about the ADVENTUROUS day that we have had. So here it goes…

5 Things: Our Father’s Day… The Good, The Bad, and The Funny:

1. So, here is how our morning began…. Well, I should really give y’all a little backstory first. I was FORCED BEYOND MY WILL to take a HUGE portion of cake home from the baby shower yesterday. And not just ANY section of cake, it was more like the entire side which had an ENORMOUS amount of LUSCIOUS FROSTING. Which I usually do not complain about free cake, but this cake was DANGEROUS y’all!

It was a fabulous, homemade, incredibly moist, creamy, rich, buttery, melt in your mouth, almond flavored cake…. And it tasted exactly like Wedding Cake. And here’s the problem, Wedding Cake is my one weakness! It is my favorite and I lose all of my senses and become completely clutched in its grasp while in its presence. Well, on my way home yesterday evening, I tried my very best to get rid of it all. I dropped some off to my grandparents, and then brought the rest to the boys. I left it on the counter hoping they would devour every last morsel.

But when I woke up this morning and headed into the kitchen, there it was… just STARING at me! One glorious piece of cake left. It was as if Jesus had saved it just for me! I tried to resist at first, but as I walked past to retrieve the coffee creamer from the fridge, I got one heavenly sniff and immediately fell into its evil clutches. I had no other choice but to gobble it up at once. Plus, you know that I am an adult, and it IS technically okay for me to eat cake for breakfast… And that is EXACTLY what I did.

Happy Memorial Day 2016

Happy Memorial Day 2016

Happy Memorial Day, Friends! Today we are honoring all of the BRAVE MEN and WOMEN who have fought for our country, and have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. From the bottom of our hearts, we THANK YOU! We pray for peace, comfort, and blessings over your families. Only God can heal the wounds left from the loss of a loved one.

Today, we would like show our LOVE and RESPECT for our great nation, as well as the courageous men and women who are still fighting for our freedom. We appreciate the sacrifices that you make for us daily. May God’s guidance and protection be with you always.

We would also like to remain in prayer for our nation today. Regardless of whether or not we agree with its leaders and their actions, we must remain ONE NATION UNDER GOD. And we MUST trust that GOD is ALWAYS in control. For when we stop doing these things, we will see our nation fall apart.

We pray all of you have a SAFE and BLESSED Memorial Day! 🙂

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” -John 15:13

How $15 Changed Our Outlook On Life!

How $15 Changed Our Outlook On Life!

This past weekend we decided to take a break for a bit to enjoy some time with our babies. This was something that we not only WANTED to do, but something that we really NEEDED to do. Between Patrick’s almost monthly heart procedures over the past 7 months, and working  7 days a week just to keep up with orders, we were in desperate need of a BREAK. And we knew our babies needed some time to decompress just as badly as we did.

Since it is now Spring, and the weather has been absolutely GORGEOUS here in Louisiana, we decided it was high time for a WATER PLAY DAY! So, we picked up some bubbles, a slip n’ slide, snacks, and pulled out last years $0.99 pools from Target and created a fun little surprise our kiddos. While they were inside of our home playing, Patrick and I secretly slipped outside to set up a FUN FILLED day for our family, and realized a valuable lesson in the process.

When You Go Through Deep Waters, I Will Be With You

When You Go Through Deep Waters, I Will Be With You

Good morning, Friends! Today we awoke to the news of so many more of our sweet friends, followers, and family members homes either about to flood, or having already been flooded.

We are okay here, but homes only a few roads down from us are flooded. We are praying that it does not reach us, but the water is still rising, and expected to do so for the next 12-18 hours. Our property has never flooded in the past, but with this record breaking flooding that we are currently experiencing in our area, it isn’t looking so good. Although, we are hoping the water will recede, and we will not flood. Continue reading
