5 Things: Our Hospital Day

5 Things: Our Hospital Day

Hi Friends! We have had so many of you checking up on us this week to see how Patrick’s procedure went on Monday. Well, we are happy to report that it went very well! Here are 5 little fun facts about how our day at the hospital went…

1. On Monday, Patrick went in to have a quick little procedure to implant a small heart monitor in his chest above his heart. It was scheduled for 8:00 am, which meant that we had to WAKE UP and leave the house earlier than we normally have to. This wasn’t the easiest of tasks because now that we are homeschooling, we have gotten accustomed to sleeping in a bit. And this time, we were bringing our kiddos with us. On top of an already early appointment, we decided to ahead and leave a little earlier that we typically would have since the hospital is a 30 min drive from our home, and we wanted to make sure we would make it on time because traffic can be somewhat of an issue in that area. Well, we got there on time, THANK THE LORD! Patrick went immediately back to get prepped, while the kids and I sat in the waiting room. And this picture of our youngest son depicts how we were all feeling… Continue reading

Happy Mother’s Day 2016

Happy Mother’s Day 2016

Happy Mother’s Day, Sweet Friends! We hope all of you have a very blessed day surrounded by your babies, whether they are BIG or SMALL…. because you know they will always be your babies no matter how old they are!

Today I was beyond blessed because I got to spend the day with my sweet HUSBAND (who’s health is continuing to improve daily… YAY!), and my 4 little JEWELS that God so graciously BLESSED me with. They surprised my with a yummy breakfast, coffee, the new shirt that I am wearing today,  handmade Mother’s Day cards, and flowers picked from our garden!Continue reading

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Someone had some very EXCITED visitors yesterday! The kiddos were CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get up to the hospital to see their daddy. They stayed as close as they could to him… Ehmmm… right on top of him, the whole time. He was happy to see them too, and did’t mind one bit!

It is very rare that Patrick is ever away from us, so his presence has definitely been felt over the past few days. He has been doing well and feeling better everyday, and is responding well to the new heart medication. I am happy to announce that he will be able to come home tomorrow! YAY! 😉

Thanks again for all of the PRAYERS, ENCOURAGEMENT, and SUPPORT! We truly appreciate all of you! <3

We Are Checking Another Worry Off Of Our List!

We Are Checking Another Worry Off Of Our List!

We are checking another worry off our our list today! We are viewing it as just another hurdle that we have had to jump while on this journey in attempts to improve Patrick’s health since finding out about his heart issues last September. (If you are new to our page and would like to catch up on what’s been going on, you can read up HERE, HEREHERE, and HERE.)

As of lately, Patrick has been having tightness in his chest accompanied by pains. We were not exactly sure what was causing them, but his cardiologist felt that it was best if he first underwent a stress test. Although, he wanted Patrick to undero another Cardoversion first before attempting to take a stress test. He definitely wanted Patrick’s heart rate to be under control for at least a month before trying anything else. His chest tightness and pains could have even been a result of his constantly rapid heartbeat because of his AFIB. So, getting his heart rate under control was a MUST.

At the time, all that we really knew was that we HAD to place all of our trust in God’s hands, and consistently move forward with treatment options. For one, he needed to feel better. His dizzy spells, pains, loss of breath, and constant tiredness have become the norm. And for me, it just breaks my heart to see my once VIBRANT, ACTIVE, and HEALTHY husband literally change so drastically PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, and EMOTIONALLY within a matter of months. I know he definitely does not like how he feels either.Continue reading

Update On Patrick:

Update On Patrick:

Hi Friends! I apologize for not giving all of you an update yesterday on how Patrick’s procedure went. Since it was scheduled EXTREMELY EARLY that morning, we had to be up for 4:30 am. And neither of us slept very well the night before. So, we were only running on a few hours of sleep. Once we returned home yesterday we were completely EXHAUSTED. Patrick slept off the rest of the anesthesia that was left in his system, and and I watched Christmas movies with our babies and took as nap for as long as they would let me. 😉 Although, I will say that I am very PROUD of them because they were unbelievably SWEET, QUIET, THOUGHTFUL, and WELL-BEHAVED while we were napping. Continue reading
