Five Things That I am Loving This Week

1. I am sure y’all remember me posting a few pictures from our Ladies Jammie Party last Friday…

But what I didn’t tell y’all about was the awesome DOOR PRIZE that I won! To be honest, I am not exactly sure how I won cutest pj’s because precisely an hour and a half before, I was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Continue reading

Our Schoolroom Renovation

Our Schoolroom Renovation

Hi Friends! With our school year coming to a close, we thought we would share some of the CHANGES and UPGRADES that we have made to our space over the past 8 months! We feel that our space will probably be one that is every-changing as we continue our homeschooling journey, but for the time being we are very pleased with how much we have accomplished this school year.

Since this was our very first year of homeschooling, we kind of JUMPED in with both feet forward. We didn’t know exactly what would work best for us, and fully expected this to be a year of TRIALS and ERRORS. This would be our year of really learning what would work best for our family, and what we were going to have to tweak and change a bit before getting into our groove.Continue reading

Mardi Gras Break

Mardi Gras Break

Today is the official start of our Mardi Gras break! Even though we homeschool, we still follow the calendar of our local school throughout the year. That means, NO SCHOOL ALL WEEK LONG! Woo Hoo! We have thoroughly enjoyed our day so far, and are looking forward to having a fun week with our kiddos. 🙂

Where are you from, and are y’all out this week in your area too?

Grubs, Slugs, and Lizards… Oh My!

Grubs, Slugs, and Lizards… Oh My!

We are outside enjoying this beautiful weather with our kiddos, and extending one of our science lessons for the week.

As a mom of boys, I have gotten used to them playing with bugs, but I never expected my girls to be so excited about them as well. Continue reading

Happy New Year We Are Looking Forward To 2016!

Happy New Year We Are Looking Forward To 2016!

Happy New Year, Friends! As we enter into 2016, we cannot help but look back on the year that we are leaving behind…2015. And boy are we happy to have it come to an end in order to start afresh in 2016! Many of you may have noticed that I have not been posting as much as I normally do over the past week, but I have been spending some much needed quiet time in prayer. I do this the last week in every year in order to ask God for insight and guidance for the new year.Continue reading

AMEN to that! Christmas break, here we come! We hope all of you ENJOY your Christmas break!

Star Wars Here We Come!

Star Wars Here We Come!

Happy Friday, Friends! Are y’all as EXCITED about CHRISTMAS BREAK as we are!?!? Our kiddos worked EXTRA HARD this week, and completed all of their schoolwork and tests yesterday. So we had NO SCHOOL TODAY! YAY!!! And Patrick was THRILLED because the day that he has been counting down for all year was finally HERE!

No, I am not talking about Christmas. I am talking about the new Star Wars movie…

To CELEBRATE their achievement on finishing up the semester strong, our sweet little elves, Holly and Jolly, brought them an unexpected SURPRISE this morning! They had movie ticket to go see the NEW Star Wars movie (The Force Awakens), NEW Star Wars shirts laid out, and a stack of all of their favorite candy. The kids could hardly contain their EXCITEMENT when they saw all of their GOODIES that the elves brought for them!Continue reading

This is 100% ME!

This is 100% ME!

HEHE! Yep! This is 100% ME!

One thing the rest of the world needs to know about Louisianians is that we were NOT built for COLD WEATHER. I just checked and it is currently 37 degrees outside. YIKES! That’s about 33 degrees colder than I would like for it to be.

So, for now… I am heading to wrap up in a few BLANKETS and will be watching some CHRISTMAS movies. NIGHTY NIGHT, friends! 😉

P.S.: I keep having to remind myself that we are on THANKSGIVING BREAK! NO school work this week! What a RELIEF! We hope all of you ENJOY your Thanksgiving breaks as well… especially all of our HARDWORKING TEACHERS out there! <3

AKA… Homeschooling With Our Kids

AKA… Homeschooling With Our Kids

A.K.A. … homeschooling with our kiddos! LOL!

This has been a CRAZY WEEK for us as EXCITEMENT over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday has filled every square inch of our home. Our children’s bundled up JOY seems to be taking over. (It is honestly the only thing that any of us are thinking about.) This will be our first lengthy vacation break of the school year, and we just can’t seem to get to Friday evening FAST ENOUGH!
Five Things I am Thankful For Today

Five Things I am Thankful For Today

1. I AM THANKFUL that this day went much better than I initially expected. I have been fighting a cold since last week, which turned into laryngitis over the weekend. Since we homeschool our little ones, I was not sure what to expect going into this school week. (Being a teacher who can’t talk was a scary thought) As you can all imagine, I was a little nervous to say the least. But I am HAPPY to report that we got through it! Our kiddos were very COOPERATIVE, they LISTENED WELL,  and were extremely HELPFUL. And we even got finished earlier than normal! (I have NO IDEA how that happened.) 😉Continue reading
