Don’t Cry Over A Can Of Spilled Glaze

Don’t Cry Over A Can Of Spilled Glaze

What do you do when you accidentally knock over a can of glaze? You have a GLAZING PARTY, of course! Y’all… this stuff is like LIQUID GOLD around here! We use it ALL OF THE TIME, and the closest place that we can purchase it from is a 30+ minute drive in either direction.Continue reading

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Update On Our Custom Bookcase

Here’s a little UPDATE on our BOOKCASE that we were working on yesterday! Well, we were able to get it built, as well as started staining and painting it yesterday! We can’t believe how QUICKLY it is coming together!

We just flipped our shelves over and stained the other sides, and we also got a 2nd coat of paint on our bookcase. The dark shelves are going to be a BEAUTIFUL CONTRAST to the pure white that we are using on the bookcase. We cannot wait for everything to finish drying so we can put it all together!

A New First!

A New First!

Hi Friends! We are working on a new order for the Lee Family! We built a dining table and bench set for them a few months ago, and are now building matching barstools for them. This is our very FIRST TIME building barstools, and we could not be happier with our outcome so far. We are now working on our seats. They will be inset to match their table bench. Now, a building and staining we will go! 😉

Our New Orleans Style Media Cabinet Is Complete!

Our New Orleans Style Media Cabinet Is Complete!

Okay, Friends! We have the Fangue family’s New Orleans Style Media Cabinet COMPLETED! And we could not be happier with our results. We are HEAD OVER HEELS in love with it! In order to achieve this GORGEOUS finish, we used 4 different paint colors, plus a dark glaze. We then fully sealed everything with a lovely satin finish!  This piece is sure to be a FABULOUS focal point in any room! ( We love it so much, that we are on the hunt to find something in our home to use this finishing technique on.)

It always amazes us what a little stain, paint, and glaze can do…Continue reading

Sneaky Peek Of The New Orleans Style Finish

Sneaky Peek Of The New Orleans Style Finish

Okay friends… Our media cabinet is really coming together now! Here is the 1st SNEAKY PEEK of the New Orleans Style Finish! And we LOOOVE IT!  We can’t wait to show y’all our finished product!

We also picked out our knobs today and will hopefully get them on tomorrow once we have finished sealing everything. 🙂

drawer and knob

This is one of our drawer fronts and our knobs. I have a thing for heavy cast iron knobs and pulls. They bring a bit of masculinity to a piece, while the scroll work on the face plate keeps it somewhat feminine. It just goes to show that opposites do go well together!

Rustic DIY Cross Plaque

Rustic DIY Cross Plaque

Hi Friends! This week, we threw together a great QUICK and EASY pallet project for all of you! And when we say quick and easy, we truly mean it! From start to finish, it only took us A FEW HOURS to have this project completed. And it DID NOT COST US A PENNY! Not to mention, the material list for this project is VERY SHORT. All that we used was 1 pallet, 1 cross, some leftover paint from a previous project, and some glue and screws.  Most DIYers will already have most of these items on hand. And if not, NO WORRIES! They are super easy to find and are NOT EXPENSIVE at all. Continue reading

Easy DIY Trellis for Climbing Plants and Vines

Easy DIY Trellis for Climbing Plants and Vines

Hi Friends! Most of you already know how much we absolutely LOVE decorating and re-purposing beautiful pieces for the interior of our home. Well…. the only thing we enjoy more than that is working outdoors in our yard. We love creating new spaces, planting flowers, and soaking up some good ole’ vitamin D with our kiddos. When the weather is nice, we could literally stay outside from sun up to sun down.

With this being said, we are always trying to find new ways to beautify our outdoor living space. We recently started a fun pond project in our backyard, and noticed a large vertical space between two windows that needed something tall to fill the area. We had initially planned on planting a small tree or flowering shrub in the space, but could not find something to properly fill in our space without growing too far out into our new pond area. So, we decided that our best solution would be to build a trellis! This way, we could plant a climbing plant or vine that would be able to grow up instead of out!Continue reading
