5 Things: Our Hospital Day

5 Things: Our Hospital Day

Hi Friends! We have had so many of you checking up on us this week to see how Patrick’s procedure went on Monday. Well, we are happy to report that it went very well! Here are 5 little fun facts about how our day at the hospital went…

1. On Monday, Patrick went in to have a quick little procedure to implant a small heart monitor in his chest above his heart. It was scheduled for 8:00 am, which meant that we had to WAKE UP and leave the house earlier than we normally have to. This wasn’t the easiest of tasks because now that we are homeschooling, we have gotten accustomed to sleeping in a bit. And this time, we were bringing our kiddos with us. On top of an already early appointment, we decided to ahead and leave a little earlier that we typically would have since the hospital is a 30 min drive from our home, and we wanted to make sure we would make it on time because traffic can be somewhat of an issue in that area. Well, we got there on time, THANK THE LORD! Patrick went immediately back to get prepped, while the kids and I sat in the waiting room. And this picture of our youngest son depicts how we were all feeling… Continue reading

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Look Who Had Some Excited Visitors…

Someone had some very EXCITED visitors yesterday! The kiddos were CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get up to the hospital to see their daddy. They stayed as close as they could to him… Ehmmm… right on top of him, the whole time. He was happy to see them too, and did’t mind one bit!

It is very rare that Patrick is ever away from us, so his presence has definitely been felt over the past few days. He has been doing well and feeling better everyday, and is responding well to the new heart medication. I am happy to announce that he will be able to come home tomorrow! YAY! 😉

Thanks again for all of the PRAYERS, ENCOURAGEMENT, and SUPPORT! We truly appreciate all of you! <3

Hello Sunshine!

Hello Sunshine!

After a rather GLOOMY day yesterday, we woke up to this BEAUTIFUL sight! 🙂

The sun is SHINING, the birds are SINGING, and the high today is a TOASTY 68 degrees! And not to mention… there isn’t a single cloud in the sky! It is definitely a GOOD DAY to have a good day, if you ask us!

Hopefully WINTER won’t try to make any more attempts to try to get us down again. We are so ready for SPRING. Who else is with us?

Our Top 10 Ways To Beat Those Winter Blues

After having a few weeks of warm weather, we woke up this morning to some very unexpected COLD, GLOOMY weather. Ever since then, I have been feeling kind of down, and unable to shake these WINTER BLUES. Up until today, I had high hopes that this cold weather was behind us, and have been excitedly looking forward to Spring. But today really knocked the wind right out of my sails.

It comes as no surprise that most people feel down or depressed during the winter months, and it is actually a very common problem that affects a large number of people. It is called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). If you think about it, most people are stuck indoors during the winter months trying to stay hidden from the wintery, gloomy, overcast weather outdoors. And we all know that when we are trapped indoors for long periods of time, we aren’t able to get much needed fresh air, sunlight, and social interaction. All of which are essential to a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Well, if you are like us….trying to fight the winter blues, we have a few solutions to help brighten your moon, and get you back on track! Here are some of our top tips for a better, and maybe even enjoyable winter for you and your entire family!Continue reading

Happy MLK Day!

Happy MLK Day!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! We love these beautiful quotes from such a WISE and INSPIRATIONAL man. He was such an ENCOURAGEMENT to so many.

If you do anything in life, remember this… ALWAYS TAKE THAT FIRST STEP. It is one of the most difficult things that you will ever do, but no matter how scary it may be, it will be even scarier to stand still and to do nothing. There is a whole world waiting for you out there! A world that needs your GIFTS and TALENTS! A world that would not be the same without you! So, take a deep breath, take that first step, and trust that God is waiting for you at the top of that staircase.

mlk day 2

And once you take that first step, keep moving forward! Don’t stop, no matter what! You may not be perfect at first, you may look silly, people may think you are crazy, and you may not be the best at it; but as time progresses, you will get to your goal! That finish line is calling your name, sweet friends! Don’t let the naysayers and negative thoughts get you down! Where you could be 1 year, 1 month, 1 week, or 1 day from now is ALWAYS better than where you are at now. Keep working at it and keep moving forward!

1 Corinthians 13 For Moms

1 Corinthians 13 For Moms

Just in case you may be having a bit of a ROUGH DAY today… or maybe even a ROUGH WEEK, we hope that this post gives all of our sweet Mammas out there a little encouragement tonight. These times of teething, toddlers, and teenagers will soon pass BEFORE you know it! So, no matter how tough it may be (and trust us, with 4 little ones, we get it) just try your VERY BEST to soak up each and every moment with your kiddos. Our babies are small for only a SHORT time. It’s as if you blink and they are GROWN! <3

So, just take a DEEP BREATH and REST tonight knowing that we BELIEVE in you, God believes in you, and ALL of heaven is CHEERING YOU ON! This parenting journey can be a tough one, and it is DEFINITELY not for the FAINT OF HEART! But YOU, yes Y.O.U, can do it! Be blessed, friends!
