Good Report Today!

Good Report Today!

Well Friends, this was THE DAY that we have been looking forward to for the past 5 weeks. Today was Patrick’s first check-up visit with his heart specialist since undergoing his last heart procedure. We went into today with high hopes that we would receive some good news, and would be able to finally begin to put all of the pieces of our life back together since everything seemed to fall apart last year when he was first diagnosed with AFIB and Congestive Heart Failure.

This day seemed almost SURREAL. All of the trials that we have gone through until this point were coming to a head. And as excited as we were going into it, we were also a teeny bit apprehensive. Would we receive good news that would help to uplift our spirits and fill us with hope? Or would we receive bad news and would once again have to restart this whole process over again? We were filled to the brim with nervous excitement, and were anxious to find out whether or not the reading from the heart monitor over the past month would be POSITIVE or NEGATIVE. So we said a prayer and took a deep breath as we made our way into the doctor’s office while hoping for the best.Continue reading

We Are Checking Another Worry Off Of Our List!

We Are Checking Another Worry Off Of Our List!

We are checking another worry off our our list today! We are viewing it as just another hurdle that we have had to jump while on this journey in attempts to improve Patrick’s health since finding out about his heart issues last September. (If you are new to our page and would like to catch up on what’s been going on, you can read up HERE, HEREHERE, and HERE.)

As of lately, Patrick has been having tightness in his chest accompanied by pains. We were not exactly sure what was causing them, but his cardiologist felt that it was best if he first underwent a stress test. Although, he wanted Patrick to undero another Cardoversion first before attempting to take a stress test. He definitely wanted Patrick’s heart rate to be under control for at least a month before trying anything else. His chest tightness and pains could have even been a result of his constantly rapid heartbeat because of his AFIB. So, getting his heart rate under control was a MUST.

At the time, all that we really knew was that we HAD to place all of our trust in God’s hands, and consistently move forward with treatment options. For one, he needed to feel better. His dizzy spells, pains, loss of breath, and constant tiredness have become the norm. And for me, it just breaks my heart to see my once VIBRANT, ACTIVE, and HEALTHY husband literally change so drastically PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, and EMOTIONALLY within a matter of months. I know he definitely does not like how he feels either.Continue reading
