The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

The Case Of The Un-Matching Set

Happy Friday, Friends! Do y’all happen to remember the SNEAKY PEEK in Lavish Green that we were working on last week? Well, here is the BEAUTIFUL set of pieces that we were working on! This set definitely proves that not all pieces have to be from a matching set in order for them to all go well together in 1 space!

Our clients initially came to us with these pieces, and 3 out of 4 of them held SENTIMNTAL value since they had been passed down through Mrs. Stein’s family to her. The buffet originally belonged to her mother, and the end tables belonged to her grandparents. Since our client’s living room and kitchen area are open to one another, they decided to have all of the pieces refinished to MATCH.Continue reading

Sweet Words From One Of Our Amazing Clients

Sweet Words From One Of Our Amazing Clients

We are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the sweetest post we were just tagged in from one of our AMAZING clients. Words cannot express how touched and humbled Patrick and I are for your kind words, Angele. Thanks again!

“So we took an old door from a 125+ year old house on Sam’s property in MS. We brought it to the amazing Chelette’s Decor and More, and they created a beautiful coffee table for us…but what was more sentimental was the mini door they made with the remaining boards from the door and thread spool that was used as a knob on the original door. We just hung it today and will add the picture frame once I find the perfect picture to place in it.

If you want a one of a kind piece in your home… they are the ones to create it. Jessaca and Patrick have a special gift and talent that make them unique. I can’t wait to get our handmade kitchen table and other furniture from them in the future!!! Check them our on Facebook…I promise you will get hooked!!!”

Here Is Our Finished Up-Cycled Antique Door Into A Coffee Table

Here Is Our Finished Up-Cycled Antique Door Into A Coffee Table

Hi Friends! Here is our FINISHED Up-cycled coffee table! Our client initially wanted the coffee table to be painted and with a distressed finish. This was partially due to the fact that they wanted to add a little COLOR to their living room, and also partially because we all honestly thought that the boards were going to be a bit DAMAGED since the door had been sitting in an old home for quite some time.

But once we took the door apart, and saw that it was actually old, TONGUE and GROOVE PINE FLOOR BOARDS, we had an IDEA! We sent the boards through the planer, and sanded and cleaned them up. Then WE COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EYES! These boards were STUNNING! So…CHANGE OF PLANS! STAINING it was! Our client agreed that we simply could not cover up all of this BEAUTIFUL wood with paint!Continue reading

We Are Up-Cycling This Old Door Into A Coffee Table

We Are Up-Cycling This Old Door Into A Coffee Table

Hi Friends! This is our NEWEST Up-Cycling project! This old door was dropped off to us yesterday by a client. It came from a her husband’s home that he grew up in as a child. So, it is a SENTIMENTAL piece for their family. Since they no longer needed it to be used as a door, they asked if we could use it to make a COFFEE TABLE. That way, he would still have a piece of his OLD home, in his NEW home.

Well, we jumped all over this OPPORTUNITY! Y’all know how much we LOVE to take old pieces, and turn them into something NEW! It is such a PASSION of ours to have the opportunity to breathe NEW LIFE INTO OLD PIECES. Especially, when they are sentimental and have a heartfelt meaning behind them!

So, KEEP AN EYE OUT for pictures of our finished product. We PROMISE…it will be UNRECOGNIZABLE!

Candles And Tables And Candle Sticks…Oh My!

Candles And Tables And Candle Sticks…Oh My!

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday! Take a look at our amazing finds from this MORNING! We basically went ALL OUT AMERICAN PICKERS at Miss Sue’s home this morning! We were originally only going to pick up these great chairs, but ended up getting a coffee table as well. And I fell in LOVE with these FABULOUS CANDLE STICKS! AND SHE GAVE THEM TO ME! FREE OF CHARGE! I am still in shock! She is literally the SWEETEST lady, and it was beyond a pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet her.

And the wonderful thing is, she still has MORE great pieces! We cannot wait to go back and pick up some more items from her in the near future. For now…this is all that we could fit in our truck! HAHA! This day has been such a BLESSING! And it is only 11:00 a.m.! We can’t wait to see what the rest of this day will bring!

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture: Break Time!

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture: Break Time!

1.) Yes, this is Patrick and I with our feet propped up on the coffee table. Sorry for the crazy picture, but we had to give y’all a top 5 countdown of our crazy day. And this just so happens to be the place where we sat down and stopped long enough to take a picture. Now, taking a break is quite rare for us. Between our kiddos, housework, errands, and running our business; we are typically going 90 to nothing ALL DAY until we climb into bed at night. But we have to tell y’all….this was a much needed break. Even if it was only for a few minutes. Continue reading
