Math… The Struggle Is Real!

Math… The Struggle Is Real!

OHHHH… YES!!!! The struggle is REAL, my friends! Thank heavens I have a teacher guide to help me through this homeschooling when it comes to MATH! Definitely NOT my most favorite subject. HAHA! 😉

P.S.: We just finished fractions, and according to my calculations… approximately 1/4 of my WHOLE head of hair is now GRAY!!! Not good… NOT good at ALL.

Five Things I am Thankful For Today

Five Things I am Thankful For Today

1. I AM THANKFUL that this day went much better than I initially expected. I have been fighting a cold since last week, which turned into laryngitis over the weekend. Since we homeschool our little ones, I was not sure what to expect going into this school week. (Being a teacher who can’t talk was a scary thought) As you can all imagine, I was a little nervous to say the least. But I am HAPPY to report that we got through it! Our kiddos were very COOPERATIVE, they LISTENED WELL,  and were extremely HELPFUL. And we even got finished earlier than normal! (I have NO IDEA how that happened.) 😉Continue reading

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture… Pippi Longstockings Fan Club

1. We shared with y’all yesterday that our oldest daughter had to choose from a list of books for  her Literature class. And to my SURPRISE… Pippi Longstockings was on the list! Pippi Longstockings was one of my TOP FAVORITE MOVIES when I was a kid. I have watched it about a MILLION times, and it NEVER GETS OLD. So, I was THRILLED when she chose to read it for her class.

2. We also decided to watch the movie for our family movie night last night. NONE of our kids had ever seen it before. And Patrick had not either! SHOCKING… I know!Continue reading

Don’t Ruin A Good Day Because Of A Bad Yesterday

Don’t Ruin A Good Day Because Of A Bad Yesterday

Oh, how TRUE is this! I am HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE that we have had a really GOOD day today. It was the 1st semi-normal day that we have had since last Friday. As most of you know by now, we had our world temporarily turned upside down after getting some unsettling news at Patrick’s cardiology appointment last week. If you are just joining us, and would like a little review of what is going on with his health, you can catch up by reading HERE and HERE.

By the GRACE OF GOD, we made it through, and he has been doing well since his procedure on Tuesday. Since it was his first time having anesthesia since he was a toddler, and the fact that he very rarely takes any form of medicine, the anesthesia stayed in his system for quite some time. Because of this, he has been feeling a bit nauseated, lightheaded, and very sleepy for the past 2 days. Other than that that, he has been doing well.Continue reading

Reason No. 143 To Homeschool

Reason No. 143 To Homeschool

This is just another reason as to why we have been LOVING homeschooling! It has been raining here in Louisiana for 2 days straight! (Which we aren’t complaining about since it has not rained in over 2 weeks) It has been so HOT and DRY that our ground is cracking, and our poor plants and grass have been dying… even with regular watering. So, as y’all can imagine, we have welcomed this much needed rain with OPEN ARMS! It has also tremendously helped to cool our home down with the HIGH HEAT ADVISORY that we have been under.Continue reading

Five Things You Should Know About This Picture… It’s Partayyy Time!

1. For those of you who are just joining us, we have just started homeschooling our children this year; and today marked the end of our very 1st week! What a GREAT week we had! The first few days were a bit of a learning experience as we worked on getting into a good routine. And we are HAPPY to report that by the time we reached Thursday, we had found a nice routine for our whole family. Now, I am sure that there are things that could always be improved upon, but we will learn what needs to be changed and tweaked as time progresses.

2. Since this week has gone so well for our entire family, we decided to CELEBRATE! We believe in rewards for hard work around here. Plus, our little ones DESERVE it! The have faithfully gotten up early every morning, with little to no complaining. PRAISE GOD! Oh, and not to mention… they finished ALL of their course work in EVERY subject for the week. They also passed all of their tests with FLYING COLORS. That, my friends, makes my heart SOOO HAPPY!!! 🙂Continue reading
