Sneaky Peek of Some Cool New Handles!

Sneaky Peek of Some Cool New Handles!

What do y’all think about this cool new style of handle that we picked up for a clients’ furniture? Patrick was just acting a little silly with them, but they will be upside down when we add them to our pieces. And they are going to be SO PRETTY! The pieces that we are working on are actually going on some new furniture for a sweet baby girl’s room. It will be a room fit for a PRINCESS!

The color theme for this set, as well as the entire room is so GIRLY and PERFECT! We are using a few shades of gray, light pink, and white lace. We simply cannot wait to see all of the pieces finished and together in their new home awaiting the arrival of Princess Penelope! She is going to be so perfect, y’all! More pictures to come soon!

Duncan Phyfe Dining Table Repair & Refinish for the McBrayer Family

Duncan Phyfe Dining Table Repair & Refinish for the McBrayer Family

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! Today we sharing a stunning repair/refinish of a GORGEOUS Duncan Phyfe dining table that we recently refinished for the McBrayer family. Mrs. McBrayer initially contacted us because their dining room table was almost unusable due to the poor condition of the legs and feet, and was in disparate need of a little TLC. They were splitting and separating because of the age of the table. You see, this beauty was a family heirloom that Mrs. McBrayer’s grandmother passed down to her. So, she was not planning on getting rid of it any time soon. This meant that it was imperative that it was fixed as soon as possible before the extent of the damage WORSENED.

We began by fully stripping, sanding, and cleaning the entire table. Once we had that completed, we were able to get to work on our repairs. This part was the most TEDIOUS because we had to be extremely GENTLE because the wood was very DELICATE while CAUTIOUSLY removed the legs and all of the old glue. Also several legs were broken, and the pillar holding each was cracked and separating as well. Continue reading

Bedroom Set Refinish for the Arceneaux Family

Bedroom Set Refinish for the Arceneaux Family

Hi Friends, and Happy Monday! Today we are sharing a recent bedroom set refinish that we completed for the wonderful Arceneaux family! They have held on to this beautiful set for over 20 YEARS! And since their are building a new home, and plan on bringing this set with them, it was time to SPRUCE IT UP A BIT!

Since the tops were still in nice condition, they asked that we simply refinish the bottoms. And as for the paint color, they chose a gorgeous color called Linen. This is actually the same color that we used on another bedroom set that we recently refinished for the Mire family. It is the PERFECT shade of “Off White.” Not too dark, and not too light. Howard Miller Grandfather Clock Refinish

Howard Miller Grandfather Clock Refinish

Hi Friends, and Happy Friday! We recently had the pleasure of working with the Martin family on the refinish of their GORGEOUS Howard Miller grandfather clock. It was originally gifted years ago to Mrs. Martin from her husband and children as a Mother’s Day gift. She still loves it, but after their recent move, it needed a little updating in order to match the darker stain colors throughout their home. So, they dropped it off to us, and we got to work! Continue reading

Dining Room Set Refinish For Ms. Laura

Dining Room Set Refinish For Ms. Laura

Hi Friends, and Happy Monday! Today we are are sharing a GORGEOUS antique dining  set refinish for one of our sweet clients, Ms. Laura! We actually have several pieces that we recently repaired and refinished for her, but we will separate them into multiple posts to make things a bit easier.

Ms. Laura’s daughter, Tiffani, initially found us a few years back when she needed her dining set refinished. It was a very sentimental set for their family since it had been passed down to her from her grandmother. Since then, we have had the honor of building and refinishing several pieces for the homes of both of these wonderful ladies. Most recently, we refinished several pieces for Mrs Laura, including the dining set that we are going to reveal to all of you today!Continue reading

Our Schoolroom Renovation

Our Schoolroom Renovation

Hi Friends! With our school year coming to a close, we thought we would share some of the CHANGES and UPGRADES that we have made to our space over the past 8 months! We feel that our space will probably be one that is every-changing as we continue our homeschooling journey, but for the time being we are very pleased with how much we have accomplished this school year.

Since this was our very first year of homeschooling, we kind of JUMPED in with both feet forward. We didn’t know exactly what would work best for us, and fully expected this to be a year of TRIALS and ERRORS. This would be our year of really learning what would work best for our family, and what we were going to have to tweak and change a bit before getting into our groove.Continue reading

Up-Cycled Bicycle Planter Box

Up-Cycled Bicycle Planter Box

Hi Friends! For anyone who has ever wondered where we get our LOVE of up-cycling from… well, look NO FURTHER! My grandparents taught us everything we know. They are old-school up-cyclers…. They were up-cycling when up-cycling wasn’t even COOL! Like, it wasn’t even a thing back then. But they did it and did it well, and are still doing it to this day!

I don’t always post their projects, but this one was so cute, I couldn’t help myself. They have been hard at work making this fun little planter box to put their “Watch For Children” sign in at the front of our driveway. (They are always making sure their grandbabies stay safe)

This little bike originally belonged to our oldest son, and it made its way through 2 more of our kiddos before it finally BIT THE DUST. It actually had a little help from daddy’s truck, but oh well… they had to learn the hard way not to leave their bikes in the driveway. (It was the first, and will hopefully be the last time they will make that mistake)Continue reading

Scrap Pile Project: Hall Tree

Scrap Pile Project: Hall Tree

Happy Thursday, Friends! One of our most favorite things to do around here is Up-cycling. In this case, we reused some old scraps, paint, stain, and hardware from old project that had been piling up in our shop. We absolutely LOVE to save all of our usable scraps for future projects, especially when they can be re-purposed into something NEW! Why waste if we don’t have to?

So, we got to work gathering all of our scraps that would have otherwise been BURNED or THROWN AWAY. We were even able to pull together a few decorative pieces that we purchased over the years…. but never found the right use for them… UNTIL NOW! They may have not seemed like much at the time, but once put together, they became a MASTERPIECE!Continue reading
