Do What You Love

Do What You Love

Ain’t that the TRUTH! ๐Ÿ˜‰

We love getting to have our babies help up in the shop… supervised, of course! They get to learn so many awesome things from watching us build, repair, refinish, and up-cycle. And they are so PROUD of themselves when they get to see the finished product that they were able to help with.

At the end of the day, it is all about family and doing what God specifically CREATED you to do! As they say… “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.”

(P.S. For our lawyers and doctors out there.. we love ya too!”)

Our Top 10 Ways To Beat Those Winter Blues

Our Top 10 Ways To Beat Those Winter Blues

After having a few weeks of warm weather, we woke up this morning to some very unexpected COLD, GLOOMY weather. Ever since then, I have been feeling kind of down, and unable to shake these WINTER BLUES. Up until today, I had high hopes that this cold weather was behind us, and have been excitedly looking forward to Spring. But today really knocked the wind right out of my sails.ย

It comes as no surprise that most people feel down or depressed during the winter months, and it is actually a very common problem that affects a large number of people. It is called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). If you think about it, most people are stuck indoors during the winter months trying to stay hidden from the wintery, gloomy, overcast weather outdoors. And we all know that when we are trapped indoors for long periods of time, we aren’t able to get much needed fresh air, sunlight, and social interaction. All of which are essential to a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Well, if you are like us….trying to fight the winter blues, we have a few solutions to help brighten your moon, and get you back on track!ย Here are some of our top tips for a better, and maybe even enjoyable winter for you and your entire family!Continue reading

Mardi Gras Break

Today is the official start of our Mardi Gras break! Even though we homeschool, we still follow the calendar of our local school throughout the year. That means, NO SCHOOL ALL WEEK LONG! Woo Hoo! We have thoroughly enjoyed our day so far, and are looking forward to having a fun week with our kiddos. ๐Ÿ™‚

Where are you from, and are y’all out this week in your area too?

Grubs, Slugs, and Lizards… Oh My!

Grubs, Slugs, and Lizards… Oh My!

We are outside enjoying this beautiful weather with our kiddos, and extending one of our science lessons for the week.

As a mom of boys, I have gotten used to them playing with bugs, but I never expected my girls to be so excited about them as well. Continue reading

Happy Birthday To Our February Babies!

We would like to wish all of our February babies a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Your birthday month is extra special because y’all have your very own cake of the month…. KING CAKE! And here in Louisiana, it doesn’t get much better than king cake. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We would like to send out a very SPECIAL happy birthday wish to our cousin, Ryan. Tips For A Worn Out Mom

Tips For A Worn Out Mom

Haha! This is a GREAT READ for all of our Mammas out there! And remember, don’t be too hard on yourselves. As a Mamma of 4, I spend more time laughing at myself than anything else. It’s a LEARN-AS-YOU-GO journey. The best thing to do is embrace it. โ™ก

The Average Toddler

The Average Toddler

YES! And the average 4 year old girl asks 29,752 questions a day! Trust us, we know! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Our little 3 year old daughter will be 4 in a few months, and she talks NON-STOP. Thankfully she is as sweet as sugar and absolutely hilarious. So, we can let her slide. <3

Do you have a toddler running around the house? If so, are they super talkative, or ย late bloomers? Our boys were not very talkative at all when they were younger. They said what they needed to say and that was about it. Our girls, on the other hand, talked from sun up till sun down… and still do!

Snow Cream Recipe

Snow Cream Recipe

This looks like a FUN winter treat for the whole family!

Too bad it doesn’t snow much here in Louisiana, or else we would be whipping us up a batch. ๐Ÿ˜‰

At least all of our friends up North can enjoy this yummy little snack during the winter months. We get to enjoy SNOWBALLS here in the SUMMERTIME, which is similar to this snow cream cream recipe. We will be sure to post a picture for you as soon as our snowball stands re-open in a few months!

Thanks again to our friends over at Veggie Tales for posting this fun family winter snack!

How To Be The Wealthiest Person In The World

How To Be The Wealthiest Person In The World

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! If you are abundant in all of these, then you are the WEALTHIEST person in the world!

We purchased a little decorative sign many, many years ago that says, ” I don’t care how poor a man is; if he has family, he is rich.”

rich

That sign hit home for us because we didn’t have 2 pennies to rub together at the time, yet we felt like we were ON TOP OF THE WORLD because Patrick and I had each other and 2 babies (at the time). We were just happy being together and it truly felt as if life couldn’t get any better.

All of these years later, we still have that little sign in our home. We actually just moved it today to a new shelf in our bathroom so we can see it more often and be reminded of this simple, yet important truth. Sometimes it is nice to hold onto those sentimental things from our past so we can see how far we have truly come.

Be BLESSED, sweet friends! <3
