The Mattingly’s Dining Set Refinish

The Mattingly’s Dining Set Refinish

Happy Wednesday, Friends! We wanted to share some pictures with all of you of our most recent refinish! We had the opportunity to refinish a beautiful table and chairs set this past week for a client. This set was 10 years old, had a few scratches and dings, and the chairs need to be tightened and repaired. But it still had A LOT of life left in it! It always amazes us how far a little paint can go! Right before your eyes, it can literally transform and breathe life into an old piece.Continue reading

Tip Of The Week! “Easy Paint Storage”

Tip Of The Week! “Easy Paint Storage”

Hello Friends! In this weeks “Tip of the Week,” we will show y’all some cost effective, simple ways to keeping your paint from never drying out. We promise, it works! When we built our home 6 years ago, we learned a wonderful trick for keeping our paint fresh. It has not only saved us time and money, but also the headache of trying to get our paint “color matched” (which almost NEVER comes out correctly).Continue reading

Tip Of The Week! “Easy PVC Organization For Tools”

Tip Of The Week! “Easy PVC Organization For Tools”

Alrighty, Friends! Here is our tip of the week: “Easy PVC Organization for Tools!” If y’all are anything like us, tools can be difficult to keep organized. If they do not have a “specific” place to go, they typically end up getting thrown into our shed. Before we know it, we have one big disorganized mess! And the Spring and Summer months seem to be our biggest challenge when it comes to keep our shed clean. Well, that is all about to change!

We found an amazing way to keep all of our tools organized and in their proper places. Simply cut small portions of PVC pipe and secure them to your wall. Then attach a name tag on the front of each one! Now you have a place for each tool, which helps to keep your shed safe and clean! And it can save you money in the long run, too! With all of your tools in their proper place, you will know exactly where they are at all times! This will eliminate the need to head out to the hardware store to pick up another replacement tool up because you cannot find your original.

Rustic DIY Cross Plaque

Rustic DIY Cross Plaque

Hi Friends! This week, we threw together a great QUICK and EASY pallet project for all of you! And when we say quick and easy, we truly mean it! From start to finish, it only took us A FEW HOURS to have this project completed. And it DID NOT COST US A PENNY! Not to mention, the material list for this project is VERY SHORT. All that we used was 1 pallet, 1 cross, some leftover paint from a previous project, and some glue and screws.  Most DIYers will already have most of these items on hand. And if not, NO WORRIES! They are super easy to find and are NOT EXPENSIVE at all. Continue reading

Tip of the Week! Tricks to Keeping the Rim of Your Paint Can Clean!

Tip of the Week! Tricks to Keeping the Rim of Your Paint Can Clean!

Hi Friends! Anyone who has ever painted knows the struggles of dealing with a messy paint can. And we all know once paint gets collected and dried along the rim, there is NO WAY that the can will ever properly seal again! Paint can quickly collect along the inside rim due to wiping off of the excess paint from your brush along the edges of the can. This can cause a thick, gunky mess. Over time, this will also create an issue with proper sealing of the lid and can cause the remainder of the paint inside of the can to dry out and become old. We have provided some GREAT TIPS below to help stop this issue before it even starts! Continue reading

Easy DIY Trellis for Climbing Plants and Vines

Easy DIY Trellis for Climbing Plants and Vines

Hi Friends! Most of you already know how much we absolutely LOVE decorating and re-purposing beautiful pieces for the interior of our home. Well…. the only thing we enjoy more than that is working outdoors in our yard. We love creating new spaces, planting flowers, and soaking up some good ole’ vitamin D with our kiddos. When the weather is nice, we could literally stay outside from sun up to sun down.

With this being said, we are always trying to find new ways to beautify our outdoor living space. We recently started a fun pond project in our backyard, and noticed a large vertical space between two windows that needed something tall to fill the area. We had initially planned on planting a small tree or flowering shrub in the space, but could not find something to properly fill in our space without growing too far out into our new pond area. So, we decided that our best solution would be to build a trellis! This way, we could plant a climbing plant or vine that would be able to grow up instead of out!Continue reading

DIY Laundry Room “Tip” Plaque

DIY Laundry Room “Tip” Plaque

Hi Friends! As a family of 6, we are always trying to find projects that are quick, easy, and budget friendly. Here is one of our most recent DIY projects that we came up with while cleaning out our laundry room a few weeks ago.

We began noticing a continual problem with all of  that forgotten loose change either left in our pockets, or collected at the bottom of our clothes bins during sorting time. Over time, it would end up in a pile on top of our washer and dryer. So, when we recently began re-organizing our laundry room, we quickly realized that we HAD to come up with a solution for all of our loose change.Continue reading
