5 Things: We Welcome You To The Lollipop Guild…

1. So, let me start off by telling y’all that we have not been to the gym in FOREVER! At least 8 or 9 months. Basically since Patrick’s health issues began last August. But since we finally have his heart rhythm under control, his doctors have released him to start working out again. Until now, he was only released to work… and that was it! So, sitting at home during this time period has caused us to really undo all of the hard work that we put in at the gym throughout the years prior. And with all of the added stress… the pounds decided to make themselves at home… on our bodies! The struggle has been REAL my friends. Especially considering that this is what my heart keeps telling me to do…

laundry and bread

Can I get an AMEN!?!?

2. We have only been back to the gym for about 2 weeks now, and I did not realize how out of shape I had gotten since just last year. It has been tough to get back into a healthy routine, but so far Patrick has already lost 6 lbs… and me, you ask???? Ehhhm…. I am only down 1 stinkin’ pound! But I am NOT losing hope! I have been working out everyday, eating healthier than ever, and don’t plan on quitting any time soon. It honestly feels great to finally be back to the gym, working out and hopefully losing these stubborn pounds.

3. They have added some new classes since the last time we were at the gym, and we have been looking forward to giving them a go. So far, we have tried out 4 new classes. Two of which, I don’t think I will ever try again! HAHA! They were INSANELY HARD!!! I was praying through them asking God to just help me finish without passing out. Maybe I will consider trying them again once I get in shape again… I guess only time will tell.

4. One of my favorite new classes that we have tried has been Zumba. I was a bit apprehensive about trying it because while watching the class 2 weeks ago, I saw a lady run out and vomit in the garbage can! It was like a TRAIN WRECK…. I couldn’t look away! I wanted to, but COULD NOT take my eyes off of this poor lady no matter how hard I tried. And for those of you who know me well, know that I cannot handle vomit, the sound of vomiting, or even gagging. Needless to say, I had a sour stomach for the remainder of the day!

5. Regardless of that little setback, My aunt and cousin talked me into giving Zumba a try with them the following week. I am happy to report that we actually had a great time! We couldn’t keep up, didn’t do any of the right moves, and were going in a totally different direction than the rest of the class… but we kept MOVING and LAUGHING at ourselves the entire time. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing for the entire 45 minutes of the class, and I am sure everyone thinks I am a complete FREAK-A-ZOID, but I had fun. And isn’t that what life is really all about? Just having fun and not taking yourself too seriously! And I even got a good video of us during the class that I think y’all will really like…
